In order to make disciples, we will work to build Jesus' kingdom by creating a Clear Path of Discipleship in the years to come. A Clear Path is a parish framework to make and mature disciples as missionaries for Jesus in their homes, workplaces, and neighborhoods.

Clear Path of Discipleship FAQs

  •

  • What is the Clear Path of Discipleship?

    • The Clear Path of Discipleship is a blueprint for how our parish can make disciples by recognizing where people are at in their journey and guiding them along the way to becoming fruitful disciples.
    • While everyone’s conversion is unique and personal, the process of conversion can generally be marked by several key moments. Individuals move from distrust to a firm decision to trust in Jesus and join in Jesus’ mission to make disciples.
    • The Clear Path accompanies people along this path of conversion.
  • What does it mean to make disciples?

"To fall in love with God is the greatest romance; to seek Him is the greatest adventure; to find Him, the greatest human achievement." St. Augustine

    • Our heart longs for this romance and adventure. In following Jesus as his disciple, we find it.
    • To be a disciple means to follow in imitation of a master. When Jesus calls us to be his disciples, he calls us to be other Christs in the world.
    • Jesus’ first teaching to his disciples is to go be fishers of men. His last teaching is to go and make disciples of all nations. For Jesus, his call for us to follow him as disciples means that in its fullness, we share in his mission of making disciples.
    • His ultimate vision for us is to be fruitful disciples who are willing to make any sacrifices to help others grow spiritually towards the disciple-making mission
  • How does the Clear Path accomplish this purpose?

The Clear Path of Discipleship offers an opportunity for conversion, clarity, and connection, ensuring that no one gets lost in their journey of faith.

    • Conversion – helps people come to know Jesus, follow him as his disciple, and share him with others.
    • Clarity – makes readily known the invitations to make so someone can begin their journey or take the next step.
    • Connection – helps ministries work together to guide individuals from one step to the next by extending the right invitations and connecting them to others.

Success is not about simply collecting more participants for a particular ministry, but rather about providing a context for accompanying people at every stage of their journey.

  • How does this align with the parish’s strategic plan?

In 2021, the parish implemented a strategic plan that clarified the vision and mission of the primary activities of the parish: to abide in Christ and build his Kingdom by making disciples. The parish’s governance was reorganized to reflect Jesus’ offices of priest, prophet, and king. The ministries involved in these offices have helped us stay true to this plan. You can find the parish organizational chart here: St. Peter Organizational Chart.

    • Priestly ministries help us worship and remain devoted to the Lord in prayer.
    • Kingly ministries help us be good stewards of our resources/facilities and care for those in need.
    • Prophetic ministries help us evangelize and teach others to hear and respond to God's Word.

Our Clear Path of Discipleship is a plan for all parishioners to participate in the prophetic office of the parish and in their own call to join in Jesus’ mission to make disciples.

  • What is my role?

    • The Clear Path is designed for you to become a fruitful disciple and then use your gifts in a particular area or ministry to help others along their journey toward joining Jesus in his mission to make disciples, rather than you being involved with everything.

    • Anyone who is wondering what it means to be a fruitful disciple or how to begin making disciples should begin by attending Reach One More. The next offering for the parish will be on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 pm from May 28 through July 2, 2025.
